A DELAYED REUNION

On November 8, 1921 Herschel Eisenberg, now known as Harry B. Eisenberg traveled from Hartford, Connecticut to New York City to welcome his parents, youngest sister and nephew to the United States.  Harry had come to America alone in 1906 at the age of 24.  He was the oldest child, the first member of his family to leave Telechan and the first to immigrate to the U.S.  He was now 39 years old, married, and the father of two children.  He last had seen his parents, now age 73 and 63 respectively, over 15 years ago.  His sister, Leha, was 3 years old when he left.  She was now 17.  Harry had never met his nephew, Moshe, who was only a year older than his oldest child, Libby.  Moshe was born in 1908; two years after Harry left Telechan.

Little did Harry suspect that the great adventure of their trip was not yet over.  Harry came to greet his family and to take them to his home in Hartford.  Instead he and they were confronted by the immigrants worse nightmare.
