ZIPORAH AJZENBERG

The following is translated from the Telechan Memorial Book.   It is about my Aunt Ziporah and her family:

“BIOGRAPHY OF ZIPORAH EISENBERG, THE DAUGHTER OF MINKA AND AZRIEL,  OBM (Of Blessed Memory)

She lived with her mother, Minka, in the city of her birth, Telechan, and married Israel (Bernstein) in the year 5715 (1934).  Her mother traveled to Israel. (Palestine—1936)  Ziporah remained alone with her husband and children.  The tragic war broke out and her husband was taken captive by the Germans.  She remained with her children in Telechan where they were killed with all the people of the city and buried in the common grave of the city (1941).

Thus she died.  May their souls be bound with the souls of the living never to be forgotten.”

Although not mentioned in the Telechan Memorial Book, at the same time that my Aunt Ziporah and my two cousins were murdered so was my Aunt Bracha and her two children.  Bracha was the first wife of my Uncle Laibel who escaped to Tashkent.
